Canceling the Marathon. :( So, so sad.

I missed passing by 7 points, by the way.  So close.

  1. HI! I am a very average person trying to become a runner as well. I was never really interested in running until my friend designed a new sports bra and needed people to test it. The Bra*Kette is a sports bra with a pocket that can hold and ipod/phone, keys or an ID. It is also a great bra that really supports. If you're interested in giving it a try check out the website @ www.coco-designs.com. Happy running!

  3. Hi there! I plan on starting back up again soon. The CA bar exam was just a few weeks ago, so I'm trying to get back into the swing of things and am really behind in my work. Beginning Monday, I have scheduled a "cleanse," which basically means eating lots of veggies and fruits... and nothing else for a while. This is the beginning of me getting back on track with running, working out, and basically getting my life back in order. Thank you so much for your feedback! :D I promise to post again very soon.

  4. Hi! I used to run XC for my high school. I'm in my 4th year of college now and needless to say I've pretty much quit the habit. I'm looking to get back into it now that I live in a safer area. I've tried a couple times to start up again, but it's much easier said then done. Any suggestions as to not wear myself out right away and keep me going? Thanks!

  5. Yes! I think it's important to start off with shorter distances more often rather than infrequent long runs to keep you from giving up. I also think it's important to wear clothing that doesn't stifle. I would probably not time myself for a while; keep it about the experience. Finally, I would recommend trying to find a beautiful place to run (i.e., outdoors) that is mostly flat. You'll enjoy yourself more. :)

  6. That is good advice Jessie. Are you getting back into the swing of things? I know how difficult it can be to balance career/school stuff (I am a med student) when it comes to running. Keep up the work you have already invested. Good luck!

  7. Running Gator: I didn't even see your comment until just right now! :/

Thanks for the encouragement. :) I just recently learned that I finally passed the CA bar exam, so I will be getting back into my running, especially now that I know I won't have to break my training to study for the bar again. Thank goodness...

  8. I like your blog! I have always been a runner, but an average one as well. I never pushed myself until about 5 months ago. I've run my first half marathon and am training for a full marathon in February. What is your experience training for a marathon? I have discovered that about 80% of my desire to run has flown out the door since the temperatures are much colder in winter. My whole life I only ran in 70 degrees or warmer, or on a treadmill! I have been toughing it out but I dread each run in the cold when normally I live to run! Any suggestions? Also, I have a blog that I started to record my experiences in training for the marathon. Check it out! www.virginmarathoner.wordpress.com
    Thanks!

  9. Hi, VirginMarathoner! :D I apologize that it's taken me so long to reply to your comment. I don't know about suggestions for enjoying cold-weather runs more. I am so spoiled when it comes to So. Cal. weather. When it's really super cold (like hurts-your-throat-to-breathe cold), I wear one of these things around the lower half of my face: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0012017HW?tag=averrunn-20&camp=213381&creative=390973&linkCode=as4&creativeASIN=B0012017HW&adid=0VAWEHEAFEAC8Z8YXMNA& I helps. Other than that, I'm at a loss. :( Thank you for stopping by and adding your thoughts to this post! :D
